Achievement Ceremony

Laura & Carlos

Laura and her partner Carlos joined JPP with ambitious goals to advance their education, careers, and financial independence. Their commitment to personal growth has set their family on a path toward greater stability and opportunity.

Laura earned her Child Development Associate (CDA) certification and landed a job at Head Start, where she now supports other families on their educational journeys. She also completed a Cybersecurity Certification from the University of Denver, expanding her skills and opening doors to exciting new career opportunities. Carlos also achieved a major milestone in his IT career by securing a business management position, furthering their family’s economic success.

Through JPP’s small group workshops, Laura gained the tools to improve her credit, build healthy habits and routines, and manage finances. Along the way, her family found more than just resources, they found a caring community where they feel truly connected, supported, and included.

Laura and Carlos are proud of how far they’ve come and are excited for the future. Looking ahead, they’re focused on continuing their education, growing in their careers, and, most importantly, inspiring their children to achieve their own hopes and dreams.

“We never thought it would be possible. I remember thinking, what if this doesn’t work out? But we stayed focused, and here we are, homeowners.”

Maria gained the self-confidence to achieve major milestones, such as mastering business accounting, which enabled her to become self-sufficient and significantly increase her income.

Maria believes in giving back to the community just as the community has supported her. Her future goals include paying off her mortgage early and pursuing a real estate license to invest in properties and provide affordable housing
