Every year, Jeffco Prosperity Partners (JPP) and Jefferson County Head Start recognize the hard work, determination, and resilience of JPP and Head Start families on their journeys toward self-sufficiency.

This annual event celebrates the remarkable achievements of all who have reached significant milestones in education, employment, and economic stability. Check out the video from this inspiring event!

Ed & Bev, 2026 JPP Graduates

Ed and Bev were one of the JPP's original foundational families. Their journey began when they stepped into the role of kinship caregivers for their great-grandchildren, Jaden and Chloe, navigating the unique challenges of raising the next generation.

Ed played an important role in JPP’s early development through his service on the Head Start Policy Council, and he shared his time, mentorship, and wisdom with other parents, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer encouragement. Both Ed and Bev have found strength in the JPP community, using its resources to navigate schools, community services, and special-needs support.

Their journey came full circle when the children’s mother, Amber, joined JPP. Together, they championed Jaden and Chloe’s education and celebrated both their high school graduations! Amber now has a thriving landscaping career and has secured stable housing through her hard work and well-deserved promotions.

For over a decade, Ed and Bev have embodied the spirit of perseverance and unconditional love. Their story is a beautiful reminder that with commitment and a strong community, families can overcome any challenge and build a brighter future for the generations to come.

Laura & Carlos, 2025 JPP Graduates

Laura and Carlos joined JPP with goals to advance their education, careers, and financial stability.

Laura earned her Child Development Associate (CDA) certification, landed a job at Head Start, and completed a Cybersecurity Certification from the University of Denver. Carlos advanced his IT career by securing a business management position, furthering their family’s economic success. JPP’s small groups helped Laura improve her credit, create healthy habits and routines, and manage finances. Their family found a community where they feel truly connected, supported, and included.

Laura and Carlos are proud of how far they’ve come and are excited for the future. Looking ahead, they’re focused on continuing their education, growing in their careers, and, most importantly, inspiring their children to achieve their own hopes and dreams.

“We never thought it would be possible. I remember thinking, what if this doesn’t work out? But we stayed focused, and here we are, homeowners.”

Maria, 2024 JPP Graduate

Maria joined JPP in 2019 with a clear vision for her future: to pay down debt, continue her education, and launch her childcare business. In 2024, she graduated from the program as a proud homeowner with a thriving childcare business and a bright future. Maria gained the self-confidence to achieve major milestones, such as mastering business accounting, which enabled her to become self-sufficient and significantly increase her income.

Maria believes in giving back to the community just as the community has supported her. Her future goals include paying off her mortgage early and pursuing a real estate license to invest in properties and provide affordable housing

Rynn, 2023 JPP Graduate

JPP graduate, Rynn Sango, is a mother, wife, and active and engaged community member. She has overcome many challenges to achieve her educational goals and enhance her career. During her time in JPP, Rynn graduated from Metropolitan State University with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and was promoted to Vice President of Housing and Employment at Family Tree.

Today, Rynn and her family continue to thrive and give back to the community. As a parent advisor for Ascend Aspen Institute, she's had the opportunity to use her voice to speak about the importance of parent engagement. Watch the video below to learn more about Rynn.
