Searching & Shopping
JPP's Annual Searching & Shopping Event helps parents take the next step in their career journey with confidence. Thanks to volunteers and generous community members, attendees have access to gently used professional clothing, resume support, interview preparation, and employment resources.
Volunteer Opportunities: Sorting and organizing clothing, welcoming families, assisting with resumes, and facilitating children’s activities.
Donate Clothing: To prepare for this event, we collect gently used professional clothing, shoes, and accessories for women and men. Children's clothing in all sizes is also accepted. Email Roxy Dunaway at rdunaway@jeffco.us to schedule your donation drop-off.
Whether you donate clothing or volunteer your time, your support helps empower families on their path to economic stability.

Annual Achievement Ceremony
Every June, JPP proudly honors the incredible progress of JPP and Head Start families at our Annual Achievement Ceremony, a celebration of resilience, hard work, and hope.
This event reflects what is possible when personal determination meets a supportive community. Each year, our families inspire us as they take the stage to celebrate hard-earned victories, including purchasing their first homes, earning college and high school degrees, launching meaningful careers, and securing their financial freedom.
We are incredibly proud of all our families, and we can’t wait to watch them continue to grow and build legacies for their children.

Youth Achievement Celebration
The Youth Achievement Celebration is a special end-of-school-year celebration that honors our graduating high school seniors and kindergarteners for reaching important educational milestones.
This event is especially meaningful because it brings together the youngest and oldest students in our program. Kindergarteners see firsthand what is possible when they continue pursuing their education. At the same time, graduating seniors serve as role models, inspiring the next generation to dream big and work toward their future.
Many of our high school graduates began their journeys in Head Start, making this celebration a powerful reflection of JPP’s commitment to supporting families along the entire educational continuum. From early childhood education to high school graduation and beyond, we walk alongside families as they build brighter futures.
The Youth Achievement Ceremony features student recognition, awards, family activities, and a shared meal, creating a joyful opportunity for families and the community to celebrate our youth's achievements and the promise of what’s ahead.

Back-to-School Bash

Each August, JPP hosts its annual Back-to-School Bash to equip parents and students with the resources they need to start the school year feeling prepared. Thanks to our partnership with The Action Center, students receive backpacks filled with essential school supplies, helping them begin the year ready to learn.
The event also provides parents with valuable resources on school attendance, healthy routines, goal-setting, and other strategies that support student success. Families have the opportunity to connect with community partners, access helpful information, and make connections with other parents who are navigating similar journeys.
More than just a school supply giveaway, the Back-to-School Bash is a celebration of education, community, and the bright futures ahead for JPP children and families.

October's Fall Pumpkin Patch is a family favorite tradition that brings parents and children together for an afternoon of seasonal fun and connection. Families enjoy selecting pumpkins to take home to carve and decorate, and capturing special moments with fall family photos.
This event is about more than pumpkins; it’s an opportunity for families to slow down, spend quality time together, and create positive memories that strengthen family relationships. The framed family photos serve as lasting reminders of these moments, celebrating the love, resilience, and achievements of JPP families.
The Pumpkin Patch fosters a sense of belonging, community, and family connection while creating cherished traditions that families can carry forward for years to come.

Thanksgiving Gratitude Dinner

November's Thanksgiving Gratitude Dinner is a heartfelt evening that brings families together to celebrate connection, reflection, and community during the holiday season. For many families living in poverty, the holidays can be especially challenging. Financial strain, limited resources, and social isolation can make it difficult to provide a special meal or celebrate traditions with loved ones.
This event creates a welcoming space where families can gather around the table, share a warm meal, and participate in activities designed to strengthen family bonds. Through gratitude activities, families reflect on their journey and share what they are thankful for, whether it’s a new job, progress in school, new relationships, or simply the support of their community.
The evening is more than just a Thanksgiving dinner. It is an opportunity for families to slow down and enjoy time together. Interactive activities encourage parents and children to connect, laugh, and create positive holiday memories that reinforce the importance of family and gratitude.
Gingerbread House Contest
Each December, JPP families gather for the Annual Gingerbread House Contest, a festive holiday tradition filled with creativity, laughter, and connection. Families work together to design and decorate gingerbread houses while enjoying a warm meal and celebrating the season with friends and neighbors.
For many families, the holidays can be stressful, making this event a meaningful opportunity to slow down, spend quality time together, and create lasting memories. The contest encourages teamwork, creativity, and family bonding while fostering a sense of community and belonging.
The Gingerbread House Contest brings holiday magic to JPP families and serves as a joyful reminder that every family deserves moments of celebration, connection, and hope.
