Stepping Into Success in Style

Every April, JPP transforms the Head Start gym into a curated professional hub designed to bridge the gap between where our families are and where they want to be. At our Annual Searching & Shopping Event, families have the chance to browse professional clothing, get support building or updating their resumes, and practice interviewing in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.

Clothing racks with various sizes are displayed in a gym. A child in pink and adults browse clothes. Signs read "Large" and "Extra Large."

For many of the families we serve, preparing for a job interview comes with added challenges, such as limited access to professional attire. We know that something as simple as a well-fitting outfit can make a powerful difference. It’s not just about appearance; it's about the psychological shift that happens when someone walks into a room feeling prepared.

At the event, attendees got to choose outfits that reflect their style and help them feel confident. That experience honors their dignity and reminds them they are worthy of opportunity. A new outfit can shift a mindset, helping someone stand taller, feel more prepared, and show up with confidence.

This event would not have been possible without the incredible support of our community.

We are deeply grateful to our dedicated volunteers who gave their time to sort and organize clothes, provide resume support, and help everything run smoothly. Your kindness created a space where participants felt supported and encouraged.

A special thank you to the Human Services staff, Chatham Financial, and all the community members who generously donated clothing. You helped create a high-quality boutique of professional clothes that will help families reach their employment goals.

Small actions lead to significant milestones. A polished resume and a professional suit are more than just items; they are tools that open doors to stable careers and long-term self-sufficiency. To everyone who contributed: thank you for investing in our families and believing in their potential. Your support is building a stronger, more connected community.

Interested in getting involved? We are always looking for volunteers and sponsors for future events. Join us in making a difference!
