Every success story starts with community support.

Each year, Jeffco Prosperity Partners (JPP) and Head Start host the Annual Achievement Ceremony to celebrate local families who are rewriting their futures. This event really brings our mission to life and reminds us why this work is so important.

Families, staff, volunteers, board members, and community partners gathered to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of individuals who have overcome barriers to create brighter futures for themselves and their children. The evening was filled with laughter, tears, inspiring stories, and a shared sense of community as we recognized the determination and resilience of JPP families.

This year’s program graduates reached remarkable milestones. They earned college degrees, diplomas, and professional certifications, secured stable housing, increased their income, improved credit scores, launched businesses, purchased homes, prioritized their health and wellness, and created new opportunities for their children. Every achievement represented countless hours of hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance.

2026 Graduate Spotlight

This year, nine families achieved self-sufficiency and graduated from the JPP program. Among them was Shavalene, who is preparing to graduate from dental hygiene school this fall. During her time in JPP, she secured stable housing, strengthened her financial literacy skills, improved her family’s well-being, and built a strong community of support. Inspired by her commitment to education, her two oldest children have graduated from high school, with a third on track to graduate next year.

As one of JPP’s original families, Ed and Bev helped shape the program into what it is today, ensuring future families would have the support they needed. Their journey began when they stepped up as kinship caregivers for their great-grandchildren, Jaden and Chloe, navigating the unique challenges of raising a new generation. Today, they are celebrating the ultimate win: high school graduations for both Jaden and Chloe!

David and Naoko shared a story of transformation and resilience. From housing instability to finding a home of their own, they significantly increased their income and financial security. David also made extraordinary strides in his health journey, losing 100 pounds and improving his quality of life.

We also celebrated Oli and Noah, whose journey took them from housing instability to homeownership. Oli earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and advanced to a lead teacher, while Noah launched his own subcontracting business. Together, they are actively building a debt-free future.

Christine achieved one of her lifelong dreams by becoming a homeowner. She successfully transitioned from a Human Resources internship into a full-time career. She earned her Professional Certificate in Human Resources and has created new pathways for professional growth and stability for her family.

We were also honored to celebrate Kenna, whose greatest accomplishment was officially adopting her daughter, Auburn, and creating the loving, permanent home every child deserves. Her unwavering advocacy and dedication have helped Auburn thrive both academically and personally.

Each story is unique, but they share a common theme: when people have support, resources, and encouragement, they accomplish extraordinary things.

It takes a community to celebrate a community.

This event would not be possible without the community that makes these successes happen. We are incredibly grateful to Mayor Lauren Simpson and Jefferson County Commissioners Lesley Dahlkemper, Andy Kerr, and Rachel Zenzinger for their participation and continued support of our mission. Thank you to the dedicated volunteers who helped set up, serve meals, greet families, and create a welcoming environment for attendees. Your generosity of time and talent helped make the evening truly special.

A special thank you goes to the Party Time Photo Booth Rental team for the fun photo booth experience that really elevated the event. It was wonderful watching everyone get a little silly and capture special memories from the day.

A huge shoutout to our event sponsors, Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA), Metro West Housing Solutions (MWHS), Foothills Regional Housing, and PNC for helping make this celebration possible. Your commitment to housing stability, education, financial empowerment, and community development creates opportunities for families throughout Jeffco.

Progress is built through small steps taken with purpose. Every diploma earned, debt paid down, home purchased, promotion achieved, and challenge overcome represents a family creating a stronger future for generations to come.

Congratulations to all the 2026 honorees. Your determination inspires us, your achievements deserve to be celebrated, and your stories remind us that anything is possible when opportunity meets perseverance.

We cannot wait to see what comes next!

Skip the Gala, Hit the Trail! Support Jeffco Families This Summer

The achievements celebrated at this year’s ceremony are possible because of a community that believes every family deserves the opportunity to thrive. From earning degrees and launching careers to purchasing homes and supporting children through graduation, these successes are the result of hard work paired with community support.

This summer, you can help create the next success story through JPP’s Summer Anti-Event Fundraiser.
