Every parent wants a better future for their children. But here in Jefferson County, the rising cost of living is making that dream feel increasingly out of reach for so many hardworking families.
Here at JPP, we understand that economic mobility requires a solid foundation. That is why we are thrilled to announce a new funding partnership with the City of Lakewood, along with continued support from the Kenneth King Foundation.
Together, these investments are directly targeting the basic needs and career pathways of local families, ensuring that temporary hurdles don’t turn into permanent crises.
Expanding Our Reach to More Lakewood Residents
For years, JPP has walked alongside families to help them break the cycle of generational poverty at Head Start. Now, thanks to our new partnership with the City of Lakewood, we are expanding services to more Lakewood residents. By meeting parents at Head Start, we can align early childhood education with whole-family support, helping more parents find their footing and climb toward economic freedom.
Powering Employment Pathways: The Kenneth King Foundation
While stabilizing basic needs is the first step, the bridge to self-sufficiency is a sustainable career. We are incredibly grateful for the continued partnership of the Kenneth King Foundation, whose ongoing funding directly powers JPP’s employment initiatives.
This support allows us to focus heavily on career pathways that enhance earning potential and opportunities for advancement. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, our coaches focus on each individual's unique strengths to map out customized goals. We help participants gain the specific skills, training, and education they need to enter today's workforce confidently.
Our support doesn't end when someone gets hired. Ongoing coaching helps remove unexpected barriers along an individual's career journey, actively promoting job retention. By fostering stable, upwardly mobile employment, we aren't just helping individuals; we are building a more robust, self-sufficient community.
Filling Gaps and Creating Generational Prosperity
This combined support from our municipal and foundation partners bridges the gap between immediate crisis intervention and long-term stability.
We are so, so, so grateful to all of our partners for investing in our families, our community, and our future. Together, we are making sure our neighbors have the resources, the coaching, and the community support to thrive.
