We are excited to announce that JPP was awarded the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) Direct Effect Award. This grant will expand access to stable housing, financial education, and academic opportunity.
For the families we serve, rising housing and energy costs pose serious barriers to long-term stability. Many low-income households spend nearly three times more on energy than the average family, often leading to difficult choices between rent, food, and health care. With CHFA’s support, JPP will strengthen our housing stability services through landlord mediation, housing navigation, energy assistance (LEAP), and emergency rental support to prevent evictions and reduce homelessness.

But housing is only one part of the equation. Housing stability, mental wellness, and academic success are deeply interconnected. More than 30% of our families include a member diagnosed with autism, and 70% are actively engaged in therapy. Our integrated coaching model supports the whole family by offering mental health services through our partners at Lighthouse Therapy Team and Blue Channel Therapy while guiding families through goal-setting, financial coaching, and resource navigation.
This grant will also help us narrow the education gap, particularly among economically disadvantaged and neurodiverse youth. JPP provides early academic intervention, mentorship, tutoring, and college readiness services. We also cover the cost of extracurricular activities so children have access to enriching experiences that foster confidence and social connection. From advocating in IEP/504 meetings to providing parenting education, we are focused on helping every child thrive.
Together with over 60 partners, we are creating a holistic and effective support system. Our outcomes speak for themselves: families increase their income by an average of $34,000 in just three years, reducing reliance on public systems and strengthening the local economy.
Thanks to CHFA’s investment, JPP can continue to be a bridge to stability, self-sufficiency, and success for the families who need it most.
