Education & Youth Development
90%
of students graduate high school on time.
We believe education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Coaches support students from early childhood through graduation and beyond. We also support parents returning to school or earning their degrees because parents’ level of educational attainment is a strong predictor of a child’s success. Being located in the Head Start building allows us to start preparing kids for graduation as young as age three.
We provide educational advocacy, IEP/504 support, and parenting education around the importance of school attendance. Services include tutoring, college tours, financial aid, tuition, school supplies, and class enrollment. We also connect youth to enriching experiences that build leadership skills, strengthen confidence, and prepare them for postsecondary learning and the workforce.
"I got my CDA and a job at Head Start. My husband is returning to school, and my daughter completed preschool and is going to kindergarten."

Mental Health & Wellness
Healthy individuals excel as parents, employees, and foster academic success in their children. We connect families to medical, dental, mental health, and behavioral health providers.
Our services include health education, stress management, coping skills, nutrition classes, substance abuse support, and on-site neurofeedback at no cost. We assist with Medicaid applications and help families navigate the healthcare system to get the care they need.
89%
of families have healthcare and utilize preventative care.
"My mental health was my number one priority for my family and me. I was able to get myself and my eldest in therapy. It has helped each of us as individuals and improved healthy communication between us. I didn't know where to start, and JPP helped guide me into two great places that would take each of us.
[Neurofeedback] has helped my sleep and thinking process. Having time to myself is great, and the sounds are so relaxing."

Economic Mobility
Financial stability is critical to a family’s economic and social mobility. Even small increases in income can have a big impact. Research shows that a $3,000 boost in a parent’s income when a child is young can raise that child’s future earnings by 17%.
Improving financial literacy and building economic assets are two of JPP's biggest strengths. We assist families in creating plans to achieve financial goals and improve financial literacy. Services include credit building, debt reduction, saving for a home, and financial education classes.

Community Connection
Social capital is the secret sauce of the JPP program. We host monthly meetings, community dinners, and workshops on financial literacy, mental health, stress reduction, parenting, career exploration, and children's activities.
Families come together to share stories and inspire one another to continue making positive changes in their lives. It’s a novel and key success factor to the two-generation approach as it builds on the strength and resilience of families and bolsters the aspirations parents have for themselves and their children.
100%
satisfaction from families who participate in monthly events.
"Family meetings are a nice chance to have a feeling of community. Living in poverty, there are many times I feel unseen by the greater community."
